Kensington Market & Club Monaco
Yesterday myself, Danielle and our friend Kayla spent the day around Kensington Market areas to go to an Ice cream place we've been wanting to go to for a while and it was perfect because yesterday was HOT! it was almost unbearable. The ice cream place is called Seven Lives Paleteria and it's located at 72 Kensington Avenue and they make all of their paletas ($3.25 each) in house and the flavours range from the delicious Strawberries & Cream to Fruit Loops and coupled with the turquiose walls and pastel pink tiles it makes for an Instagram heaven for all those interested in adding some colour to their Instagram feeds.
But its not just about how the asthetics of the store looks as the desserts are absolutely delicious, I had the Watermelon and Kiwi paleta and I was immediately impressed by the fresh and natural taste of the watermelon in the paleta, it was quite refreshing on the that extremely hot day. If you're in the mood for something a little bit heavier I would suggest you try the Pineapple Dole Whip Float, If you're not familiar with Dole Whip it is a famous Disneyland Dessert made with soft serve and dairy-free pineapple flavoured dole whip and pineapple juice, a maraschino cherry and a cocktail umbrella. On a side note if you're ever in the Kensington Market area also check out the Seven Lives taco joint right across the street from the paleteria, it's the perfect place to go to before you head over to the paleteria for dessert.
After lunch at Fancy Franks the 3 of us walked up to Yorkville to check things out over there and to also check out the Club Monaco on Bloor Street, The store itself is located in the Lillian Massey Building that was built between 1908 & 1912 and originally used for the University of Toronto's Household Sciences program created by Lillian Massey Treble. But it not only houses the Club Monaco flagship store but also the University of Toronto's office for Department of Classics and Medieval Studies. Inside the store itself is gorgeous, its very swanky and has this Rodeo Drive type feel to it we may not have spent a lot of time in the store (we didn't buy anything) but it is one of the mst gorgeous Club Monaco stores in Toronto.
