Universal Studios : Day Two
So on Day 2 we made a trip up to Universal City and visited Universal Studios Theme Park, It was one of my favorite things we did so far as there was just SO much to see and do.
They had a private event going on at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter so we weren't allowed to go in.....more on that later in the post.
We started off the outing by starting in the Simpsons part of the park. The whole area was dressed like Springfield from having a Moe's Tavern to a Kwik-E-Mart. At lunch time we ate at Bumblebee Man's Tacos (AY YI YI) it was quite tasty but my favorite part of the meal was having a Buzz Cola, anyone reading this that is a Simpsons fan knows how big of a deal that is lol. After eating and spending more time walking around a very real feeling Springfield we tackled the Simpsons Ride and it was awesome, it was a 3D thrill ride that pits you against Sideshow Bob to save Springfield from destruction if you're ever at Universal Studios I recommend you check it out.
Next we decided to go on a "Studio Tour" which is basically going on a tour of movie and TV sets, it was pretty cool to see how they put everything together and to see how the magic of television really makes things look awesome, the tour ended with a virtual Vin Diesel and crew taking us on a ride equipped with special effects.
Last but certainly not least we arrived back at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! we were just about to leave the park for the day when we noticed something strange going on.....there were people going inside the attraction!!! much to our excitement, even though the full attraction isn't open until April 7th they had a "soft" opening that weekend. We get inside and it's set up exactly like Hogsmeade (click on the link to know what Hogsmeade is) they had everything from Olivander's to Zonko's Joke Shop. We made our way to Olivander's where we bought a couple of souvenir wands, next we made our way inside the artificial Hogwarts castle to experience one of the most immersive and enjoyable rides I've ever been on, we literally had to drag ourselves out of the Hogsmeade Village.
All in all it was a very successful day at Universal and I highly recommend checking out the Harry Potter attraction if you're in the Orlando or Los Angeles area.
