Getty Villa & Santa Monica : Day Three
Day 3 saw us take our talents out to the Pacific Palisades to visit the Getty Villa & Santa Monica.
The Getty Villa is like something out of a dream with the set up of the whole place, almost like you take a trip through ancient Rome & Greece. Admission to the Villa is absolutely free which I thought was really nice, once we were inside there were several rooms showcasing the different types of things used in everyday life in Ancient Rome & Greece. There was quite the large tour group there that day so we didn't get to go on any of the guided tours so that was a bit of a bummer.
After we were done at the Villa we waited almost an hour for the LA metro bus, we decided to call an Uber so we could make our way to our final destination of the day....Santa Monica!
Santa Monica is quite the city to visit, first of all it's probably one of the cleanest cites I've ever been to in the USA...it was quite refreshing.
Once at our destination we walked along the beach promenade which was like something out of a movie, there were so many nice beach homes overlooking the Santa Monica State Beach and Santa Monica Bluffs. it took us probably 30 min to walk the whole promenade because we were so wrapped up in looking at all the scenery surrounding us on top of scouting a potential future home lol, once we stopped gawking at all the beauty we made our way to the Pier which was just as beautiful as the promenade. The Pier gives you a great view of the beach and the city of Santa Monica behind it which makes for a stunning backdrop, there's also rides and games to play on the pier which makes it fun if you're traveling with children.
After all of that we decided to check out the shopping scene, The 3rd Street Promenade is an upscale outdoor shopping and dining complex in the heart of Downtown Santa Monica, I highly recommend checking out if you are visiting Santa Monica.
Day Three was a huge success and most possibly my favourite part about this week long vacation.

Travelers Tip: If you ever visit Santa Monica please use all available crosswalks, it's a $300 fine if you are seen jaywalking anywhere within the city! we almost learned the hard way until a Good Samaritan warned us of the potential penalty.
